Those that fall into more than one of the area's seven counties are listed under the county that includes the largest share of a district's territory. A few other districts lie primarily outside the D-FW area but include a sliver within one of the seven counties; those districts are included, too, under that particular county.

A PATCHWORK OF DISTRICTS
The seven-county metro area includes nearly 100 public school districts. Some are geographically expansive, while others cover relatively little territory. Some are responsible for the education of tens of thousands of students; others enroll only a few hundred. The map below and the tables that follow will acquaint you with the vast educational landscape.
